| ENVIRONMENTAL SEWAGE FACILITIES PLANNING
HVA has managed the preparation of 16 official (Act 537)
sewage facilities plans for various municipalities within Berks, Chester, Montgomery,
Schuylkill and Lebanon Counties. Our responsibilities included writing the text;
conducting all background research and studies; providing overall coordination with the
Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection; establishing alternatives for
wastewater management; recommending alternatives to resolve existing and/or potential
wastewater treatment needs; applying for all necessary planning grants; evaluating funding
alternatives for municipal implementation; and attending all community meetings and public
hearings.
PERMITTING AND PLANNING MODULES
HVA has prepared, reviewed and submitted numerous
planning modules for subdivision and land development activity in accordance with the
procedures established by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. These
tasks also included the evaluation of capacities within the treatment, collection and
conveyance system; the documented wastewater treatment needs; and coordinating efforts
with local, county and state officials.
